How App Store and Google Play subscriptions work in RetouchMe

Explains how RetouchMe subscriptions are billed and managed by Apple App Store or Google Play, what the store handles, and what RetouchMe does inside the app.

Short answer

RetouchMe subscriptions are billed and managed by Apple App Store (iPhone / iPad) or Google Play (Android), not by RetouchMe directly. The store handles purchase, renewal, cancellation, plan changes, refunds, and receipts. RetouchMe receives confirmation from the store and unlocks subscription benefits — credits and faster order priority — inside the app.

What's managed by the store

The store handles:

  • Starting a subscription (purchase confirmation, billing setup)

  • Automatic renewal at the end of each billing period

  • Canceling a subscription

  • Upgrading or downgrading a plan

  • Receipts and tax invoices for each charge

  • Refunds (App Store and Google Play decide eligibility)

All these actions are performed in the store's settings, not inside the RetouchMe app.

What RetouchMe does

RetouchMe:

  • Receives the purchase confirmation from the store

  • Unlocks subscription benefits in the app (subscription credits, order priority)

  • Updates your in-app subscription status

  • Refreshes subscription credits at the start of each billing period

RetouchMe does not charge you directly, send store-side receipts, or process refunds.

Where to manage your subscription

  • iOS / iPadOS — open the Settings app on your device → tap your Apple ID at the top → Subscriptions.

  • Android — open the Google Play app → tap your profile → Payments & subscriptionsSubscriptions.

From these screens you can cancel, change plan, view billing history, and download receipts.

Why subscriptions don't transfer between iOS and Android

Apple App Store and Google Play are separate billing systems. A subscription bought on iOS lives in your Apple ID and cannot move to a Google account, and vice versa. To switch platforms, subscribe again on the new platform and cancel the old one to avoid double billing. See Using RetouchMe on multiple devices.

What you can manage inside the RetouchMe app

RetouchMe app shows:

  • Your current subscription status (active or inactive)

  • Available subscription credits

  • One-time credits balance

  • Order history

RetouchMe does not let you change billing or cancel from inside the app — those actions are at the store.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my subscription charge come from Apple or Google instead of RetouchMe?

Because Apple App Store and Google Play are the merchants of record for in-app subscriptions. They handle billing on RetouchMe's behalf.

Can I subscribe directly through RetouchMe's website?

No. Subscriptions can only be started through the App Store or Google Play.

Where do I cancel my subscription?

In the same store where you subscribed. See How to cancel a subscription.

Can RetouchMe support cancel or change a subscription for me?

No. Subscription management is handled directly by Apple or Google. RetouchMe support cannot perform these actions.

Why is my subscription not visible on my new device?

Make sure the new device is signed into the same Apple ID or Google account used for the original purchase. See How to Restore Purchases.
